Welcome
Below you will find all the important stuff,
the Lowdown on what this group is all about.

The Group is made-up of individuals living with epilepsy.
We meet to network with others, gain knowledge from speakers
and promote public awareness.

Time, Location, and Parking
The monthly meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m., Presbyterian Hospital,
200 Hawthorne Lane.  You are also invited to join part of the group that meets at 6:15 p.m. in the hospital cafeteria prior to the meeting for some extra networking.
The hospital has reserved the Bob-Cat Room for our support group. The Bob-Cat Room is located just off the parking deck, next to hospital’s cafeteria.  Just as you enter the hospital from the visitor parking deck you will find the cafeteria on your left.  Now look for the Support Group sign just to the left of the cafeteria and continue down that hall. If you enter the hospital through the front entrance, simply ask the receptionist for directions.

Our Members

Everyone is welcome.
Anyone that has been affected by epilepsy in any way is welcome. You may be the patient, the caregiver, a friend, a spouse, a partner, a parent. Hopefully everyone that attends will walk away a little informed about epilepsy. Our attendance runs between 20 & 25 people and the ages range between 18 & 65 years. We have a very diverse group, with members coming from Charlotte, Concord, Rock Hill, Huntersville and Gastonia.  There are no dues to become a member.

Programs
Programs may consist of an educational topic, networking to improve the quality of life for persons with epilepsy, discussion groups, or social activities.   The meetings are interactive and are aimed to improve the quality of life for people with epilepsy.

Here's a sample of our recent meetings and future activities,

    2009
In July we had a pharmacist; in August we had a neurologist; in September we had a yoga instructor; in October we had a group picnic; in November we had a group discussion; and in December we had our Christmas Party.  And that concluded a fabulous 2009.
